How to get to Madrid old town by public transport?

The C1 and C10 trains link the airport with the Atocha-RENFE transport interchange, very close to the main museums, such as: Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. They also go to Atocha (Single ticket: € 2.60). The Express Line bus also goes to Atocha (Single ticket: € 5). With the Metro you can get to Nuevos Ministerios station and from there it can be combined with line 10 to reach the central stations of Tribunal and Plaza España. (rate from € 4.50)

Where to wait for Uber or Cabify

The meeting points with Uber or Cabify cars are Terminal 1 International Arrivals (Lounge 1), at the back of Parking P1 and Lounge 2 (first Floor)

Is there a free Internet WiFi service?

There is a free service offered by the Aena airport concessionaire when connecting to the AIRPORT FREE WIFI AENA network. It is possible to register by e-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn or Aena Club Cliente. Access is agile and without codes, and allows the registration of several devices by the user.

Where to get a SIM card?

The Exactta store has Sim Cards with IP technology for mobile phones, phone cards and Internet service. It is located in the arrivals Terminal T1, Floor 0, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (On special dates, these hours may be modified).

How to get from one terminal to another?

The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport has a free bus that connects terminals T1 and T4 every 20 minutes 24 hours a day. In turn, there is an automatic underground train that connects Terminals 4 and 4 Satellite. There are also minibuses that serve as transport in the parking areas.

What to do in case of a long layover?

There are many shops and duty free (most operate from 6 am to midnight), restaurants, breweries, taperías and coffee shops (some available 24 hours a day) as well as vending machines for drinks, sandwiches and sandwiches in all terminals. In turn, the airport has VIP lounges (some open 24 hours) and they are a great option for a connected flight, a canceled flight, an early morning check-in or for a breakfast, buffet lunch, snacks, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere for rest or work. In turn, there are the Air rooms on T4 Floor -1, which are rooms to spend the night, or during the day (maximum 6 hours) and with showers available.

The airport also has work desks with plugs in the boarding areas of T4 and T4 Satellite, and the baggage claim area of T4.

What to do in case of a lost of belongings?

For lost luggage you must contact your airline or go to their counter at the airport. Some such as Iberiam, or the GroundForce or WFS firms attend the claim of several airlines. Is there any luggage service?

The Left Luggage Consignment company has luggage storage services and also a luggage packaging and home delivery service. Arrivals at Terminal T4, Floor 0 and at T1 are available 24 hours a day in the garden area, in front of room 2. At T2, they are in the public area, Floor 1 from 5:00 to 22:00. Rates from 6 euros (up to two hours), € 10 up to 24 hours and € 4.29 per day (minimum 15 days).

Does it have currency exchange and banking services?

There are several currency exchange counters in terminals T1, T3, T4 and T4S (some operate 24 hours). There are also ATMs located in the check-in areas. For its part, BANKIA bank has branches in the billing area of T4 (Floor 2) and at the exits of T2 (Floor 1).

Where to request a VAT refund?

The refund of the tax to non-EU residents (Tax Refund) for their purchases in Spain can be requested at the Civil Guard offices (T1 billing, T4 departures and T4S boarding) or at electronic visa machines (DIVA screens) located in the airport check-in areas. Are there emergency medical services?

The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport has 24-hour emergency services in the silver or arrivals hall of terminals T4 and T2. In turn, in T4 Satellite it is available in boarding area M from 7:00 to 23:00. Telephone: 917 466 112 (only emergencies).

There are also defibrillators distributed in 75 Heart Rescue Points that are intended to help users in the event of cardiac arrest.

How to request assistance in case of reduced mobility or disability?

For passengers with reduced mobility, the airport has a free assistance service. Request assistance at least 2 and a half hours in advance although to guarantee the provision of the service, it is recommended at least 48 hours before the departure of your flight. Are there assigned spaces for lactancy and babe change facilities?

Lactation and children’s area: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport offers a children’s play area for children from 0 to 6 years old and an infant room for feeding and changing babies’ diapers or to put them in a crib. All children must be accompanied by a dependent adult. These zones are in the T2 and T4 boarding areas from 8 am to 8 pm.

In turn, there are game rooms in the boarding areas of all the terminals and free service of pushchairs for babies in the boarding area of T123, T4 and T4 Satellite.
